Faith in God's Word or People's Testimonies?

Hey Reader,

"If God did it for this person or that person around you, it means God is in the neighbourhood"

Where is that written in the Bible?

In a bid to encourage yourself, don't build on seemingly nice and wise sayings that have no root in the Word of God. Build on the Word! Come on!

Have you read the story of the woman with the issue of blood? Jesus wasn't going in her direction, yet she came from behind and pressed just to touch the hem of Jesus' garment. Jesus had to stop and turn in her direction just because of her faith!

Faith brings God to your neighbourhood! Beyond that, faith casts heaven's spotlight on you. Faith translocates God's blessings to us.

Smith Wigglesworth aptly said, "There is something about believing God that will cause Him to pass over a million people to get to you."

No doubt, testimonies encourage our faith.

However, most of what we call testimonies aren't. I'm sorry to say. Your faith must be in the Word of God.

A testimony is your personal faith report of the faithfulness of God to His Word. It should be a personal report of how you trusted and acted on God's Word and how it delivered. It should draw your audience back to the Infallible Word of God.

We have been told to "...follow those who through faith and patience inherit the promises" (Hebrews 6:12)

For instance, "On my way to grandma's house, someone gave me an envelope with $1000" may indeed be a testimony, but hearers may not be able to reproduce that in their lives. If someone now says, "If God did this for Mr.A or Ms D., He will surely do it for me. That's baseless!

On the other hand, a testimony such as, "Since I decided and started giving out 5% of my income to feed the poor, I noticed that lack has been far from me". A testimony like this can boost your confidence in the Word because it draws attention to the Word of God according to Proverbs 28:27, "...whoever gives to the poor will never lack". However, your faith for 'no lack' should be based on that verse, and maybe other similar verses, not just on someone else's testimony or experience.

Today's Challenge:

Read Psalm 41:1-3 and meditate on it. Personalize and declare it. Also, decide on a specific percentage of your income that will go to the poor always. You can always start small.

Hello Reader, Imagine if we approached our work with the same fervency and passion as we do our prayers for abundance. How much more progress could we achieve? How many more doors of opportunity could open before us? Think about this: Is it logical to exchange a strong work ethic for fervent prayers alone? Certainly, prayers can unleash a torrent of blessings, but what are they falling upon? A field devoid of seeds? A barren land? Is it not written that "...The LORD will open to you His good...

Dear Reader, Just as we purposefully install software on our devices to improve their performance, we have the chance to embed the principles and teachings of God's word into our hearts and minds. This 'programming' process entails immersing ourselves in Scripture, meditating on its truths, and letting its wisdom saturate every facet of our existence. This practice not only guides the path of our lives but also revolutionizes our world! Romans 12:2 (MSG): "Don’t become so well-adjusted to...
